Before it became world-renowned for its vineyards, California’s wine country was home to sprawling ranches and farms.
Today this agricultural legacy is evident in a new generation of sustainable farmers, many of whom deliver the provisions that make this region the farm-to-table capital of the world. We’ll take you on a chef’s tour of several Healdsburg family properties that are leading the way with organic, sustainable, and even bio-dynamic practices. You’ll have a chance to get your own hands dirty by picking or digging a basket of fresh produce to take home, and maybe even acquiring a few tips for your own vegetable garden. Then we’ll stop for lunch at a favorite locals' restaurant to experience how delicious home-grown can be.
$105 per hour per (up to six guests) vehicle with accompanying guide. We recommend 6 hours for this experience, with a 4-hour minimum required.
Each experience is equipped with a “Boho Rig” – a vintage Land Rover Defender all-terrain SUV. Not only do we appreciate the coolness factor of these sturdy vehicles, but we love that Land Rover is a company with a social conscience.
We’ll arrange to pick you up and drop you off from wherever you’re staying locally. Pick-ups and drops-offs from outside of our targeted area can be arranged in advance for an additional fee.
A private guide – local and wine-educated – will accompany your day visiting several farms and wineries in the Healdsburg area, with a stop for lunch. .
Nice to meet you: Your Produce, Pinot and, Quite Possibly, Pigs experience will begin with a complimentary fruit basket to put you in the mood for some sustainable agriculture.
A little something to tide you over: In the unlikely event that your energy begins to flag between tastings, we’ve got you covered with car snacks such as artisanal chocolate, granola bars, and beverages.
Tasting reservations will be secured by us in advance. Average tasting fees for these private wineries range from $15 to $30 per person and may be waived with the purchase of wine.
We will pre-order picnic or box lunch provisions. Various options are available and costs range based on selection, which we can discuss with you at the time of your booking.
We’ll make all reservations for you in advance. For certain venues, we may require a credit card prior to any bookings made on your behalf. Tasting fees, meal costs, and applicable taxes are not included in the excursion fees.
